Last Wednesday, ONLYOFFICE and Univention announced that ONLYOFFICE is now available for installation from the Univention App Center. Thanks to the Nextcloud integration app it is now quite easy to get a server up and running with the document editor of ONLYOFFICE integrated in a reliable, easy to use and secure file sync and share server!
Univention and ONLYOFFICE
The Univention marketplace has over 90 apps available. Many integrate and complement each other, and ONLYOFFICE and Nextcloud are a good example of that. ONLYOFFICE offers editors for text documents, spreadsheets and presentations and is compatible with MS Office files and other popular document formats. Some quotes from the press release:
“ONLYOFFICE complements our App Center portfolio with a web-based office document solution offering collaborative editing. I like it’s fresh look and the appealing appearance.” said Nico Gulden, Product Manager Apps at Univention. “ONLYOFFICE on UCS integrates with Nextcloud and ownCloud and thus provides choice about which solution to use and where files and data is stored.”
“Univention gave us a treasured chance to provide more businesses and educational institutions with a powerful open-source document editing solution. Germany has always been an especially valuable market for ONLYOFFICE, and we count on this partnership to give us vast opportunities for growth and development.” stated Galina Godukhina, Commercial Director of ONLYOFFICE. “To all users of Univention platform, we are glad to offer our first class quality and make a long-lasting positive impact on their businesses.”

The serious security flaws in ownCloud (now owned by Kiteworks) do NOT affect Nextcloud. We have strict security processes in place, and do not ship test data from libraries that can cause security breaches.
