The Nextcloud Conference 2020 dates almost a month ago and there’s still a lot to talk about in detail! Let’s start with the Zammad integration app!
Zammad is the open-source helpdesk and customer support platform for companies large and small. Zammad’s user interface was developed in collaboration with the award-winning UI experts from Zeughaus. It breaks with old traditions and is based on the familiar use of web browsers and smartphones, making it intuitive and easy-to-use. Behind the project is an experienced development team led by Martin Edenhofer, who launched the commercially successful, enterprise-scale OTRS ticket system in 2001.
The Zammad integration in Nextcloud was announced at the Nextcloud Conference this year in Berlin. Both platforms are available under open-source licenses and designed for on-premises hosting or cloud hosting, giving customers control over security, compliance and cost factors and protecting their digital sovereignty, making Nextcloud and Zammad a great fit!
The Zammad integration app
With Nextcloud 20, a Zammad integration app provides a Dashboard widget with a Zammad ticket overview, support for finding Zammad tickets using Nextcloud’s new unified search and notifications on status updates to tickets. The integration features make it easier for Nextcloud users to track the state of Zammad tickets, saving time and improving response times to customers.

Zammad enables users to easily and efficiently manage tasks and incoming user requests. Open-source, self-hosted cloud technologies with helpful integrations make networking simple. Nextcloud and Zammad both work towards the same goal of making teams more productive and collaboration easier. Teaming up for this integration will bring our users plenty of new possibilities and we are excited to see the results. Surely this is just the beginning of a long and fruitful cooperation and I am very much looking forward to it.
— Martin Edenhofer, Founder and CEO at Zammad GmbH
With Nextcloud we offer a platform for real-time collaboration and communication. The new Zammad integration capabilities in Nextcloud create a more integrated experience for users, bringing the two platforms closer together. Users can see urgent tasks on their dashboard and plan work in the morning, quickly find issues using the search or get notified about customer responses.
— Frank Karlitschek, Founder and CEO at Nextcloud GmbH
The integration app is available in the Nextcloud app store for the just-released Nextcloud 20 right now. Customers integrated into an integrated Zammad and Nextcloud environment can contact Zammad GmbH or Nextcloud GmbH.
Today, US-based file sync & share vendor Kiteworks announced their acquisition of ownCloud and Dracoon. Kiteworks points out that their customers now have access to their file-sharing application. It is to be expected they will not maintain 3 similar products, but customers will have to migrate to the US firms’ platform or look for another […]
As part of Schleswig-Holstein's state digitization strategy, the state chancellery has announced they will work with Nextcloud to develop AI for working with government documents. This comes just after we announced the first private AI assistant last weekend with Hub 6. The German state already uses Nextcloud and their AI strategy aligns with our work on ethical, local AI technologies.
Over the last year, AI has become a popular topic. Some is hype, some is substance. Some is good, some is bad. We want to give you the good, not the bad, and ignore the hype! AI has a ton of opportunity – but also risk. So we put you in control – off by […]
The serious security flaws in ownCloud (now owned by Kiteworks) do NOT affect Nextcloud. We have strict security processes in place, and do not ship test data from libraries that can cause security breaches.
