More and more of our digital lives are controlled by a handful of big tech firms and their CEOs – but there is a better way. A way that puts control back in your hands, fosters collaboration, and protects your digital freedom. And today, that is more important than ever.
With Nextcloud Hub 10, we double down on the vision that started it all: an integrated yet modular digital workspace, built for freedom, security, and teamwork. Instead of juggling multiple disconnected apps, Nextcloud Hub provides a unified platform – easier to manage, scale, and secure – while still offering deep customization. Choose from our core applications, extend them with 400+ integration-ready apps, and bring in the services you need.
Because the future isn’t about walled gardens – it’s about open collaboration. Whether you’re running Nextcloud at home, in a business, government, or local sports club, you stay in control. Our federation features connect Nextcloud servers worldwide, bringing millions together in a truly decentralized network.
This release also brings practical improvements: Performance improvements across all our products, thousands of tweaks for improved UX and stability, your new personal assistant, workflow automation for the public sector, a sleeker, more compact design and much more.
Nextcloud is more than technology – it’s a community. We’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback and hope you’ll enjoy this brand-new Nextcloud Hub!

ToggleGrown on shared values 💙
Nextcloud Hub is here, built on the foundation of collective innovation and made possible by our incredible community. This release brings numerous performance and stability improvements, inspired by your contributions and feedback. Thank you to everyone involved in coding, testing, sharing, providing feedback, and supporting Nextcloud Hub. Your dedication makes this progress possible, and we celebrate this new release together with you!
Integrated yet modular
In Nextcloud Hub, individual integrations between the apps define the entire user experience. The file management in Nextcloud Files integrates smoothly with the Nextcloud Office suite, Nextcloud Office brings collaboration directly in Nextcloud Talk chats, a place where you plan and host your Nextcloud Calendar meetings, while calendars track your tasks and upcoming deadlines from Nextcloud Deck. Everything easily accessible from your Dashboard, shareable with the Smart Picker and supported by the Nextcloud Assistant.
In Nextcloud Hub 10, we bring in many improvements that contribute to integrations between the apps and the platform’s connectivity and continuity.
Widgets to start your day connected 🤹♀️
Nextcloud Dashboard welcomes you when you step into your day, catching up with important mail, conversations and events, weather forecast or due tasks. We designed it to provide an effortless starting point for your work. Now you resume quickly from where you left off with all important files in the new Favorite files widget. Get access to all your recent conversations in Nextcloud Talk, or mentions – if there’s anything to address, from the Nextcloud Talk widget.
Chat, click, scheduled: new way to plan meetings ✍️
Planning online meetings has never been easier. Add a meeting to your calendar right from the conversation where you want to organize it, quickly adding attendees from its participants.
And when creating your next event from Nextcloud Calendar, start a new Nextcloud Talk conversation for your meeting or pick an existing one.
Collaborate through Nextcloud Teams 👥
Nextcloud Teams allows managers and individuals to create and manage their own custom groups. Administrators can now assign a Groupfolder to a team, reducing the need for administrators to manage access. To improve naming consistency, we renamed Groupfolders to Team folders, as these are owned collectively. Team members (with the right access rights as defined by Access Control Lists) can edit and view the shares of the team. If a team member leaves for vacation – or leaves the team – shares remain as they are owned by the team. Members can now track team activities through the Activity app.
We also brought Nextcloud Teams support to Nextcloud Tables, in addition to users and groups as types that can be assigned and tracked.
Text templates anywhere via Smart Picker 📑
You’ll want to use Smart Picker more often with text template tool for quick replies and one-click content creation across Nextcloud Hub. And we made it easier to find in Text – just click the “+” icon on your left.
Powerful external apps with AppAPI 🧩
AppAPI lets developers create external apps for Nextcloud in any programming language, integrate complex computational functions (for instance, machine learning), and run them on external hardware. We made AppAPI even more robust and ready for a bigger variety of apps – supporting more flexible configurations and better interoperability, and extending framework’s fit with privacy regulations.
External apps are now merged in the Nextcloud App Store together with all other Nextcloud apps.
More integrations to join Nextcloud 🔌
Documenso
Simplify document signatures with self-hosted, open-source alternative to DocuSign.
OpenProject
Simplify project file management and sharing by connecting Nextcloud to the world’s leading open-source project management tool.
XWiki
Connect XWiki-based wikis, search content in them and share pages easily via Smart Picker.
Zulip
Integration app for easy file sharing in Zulip now lets you search public and direct massages via Unified Search in Nextcloud Hub.
Steadier and snappier Nextcloud Hub
While for each release the spotlight tends to be on the many features our users and customers asked for, the vast majority of our efforts is spent on making the existing Nextcloud functionality better.
In hard numbers, from the 4600 merged code changes in just the core Nextcloud Files, Nextcloud Talk, Nextcloud Groupware and Nextcloud Office repositories, only 100, less than 5%, was associated with features.
Up to 6x faster file upload ⏩
A 10GB file that previously took around 195 seconds to upload now takes just 45 seconds using chunked upload, considering you have a high-speed internet. That is 4.5 times less! And it is also more reliable – if you connection is lost, even for a while, the upload will resume from where you left off.
Performance boost across the board ⚡
All our apps got faster and more stable. Improved file sync in Nextcloud Text, reduced server load from mobile attendees in Nextcloud Talk calls, lighter Dashboard and Unified Search loading, a lot of optimized background processes – to give only a few examples. All so you can enjoy your working space even more.
Peak efficiency in your control 🔐
Running software on your own server is no easy task, but we want to bring you confidence in performance. We improved our setup checks, including checks for Mail, Talk and the APCU cache to give you pointers when there is room for improvement.
Security built for enterprises, available to all
As a private cloud technology, Nextcloud is secure and private by design. Security is a hard prerequisite for privacy.
With Nextcloud Hub 10, we have hardened the security framework of the entire platform and added new features to ensure compliance with even stricter requirements.
More E2EE options: security without gaps 🔑
End-to-end encryption (E2EE) effectively protects your data from an untrusted server by encrypting the data on the client side. The server does not gain access to the private key used. We introduce two end-to-end encryption improvements.
End-to-end encrypted calls
Nextcloud Talk now supports end-to-end encrypted calls for sensitive communication, both when accessed via web and through the new desktop client.
End-to-end encryption in browser
And in Nextcloud Files, we made end-to-end encryption available in the browser, as an opt-in setting. After entering your mnemonic, you can now browse and download file from end-to-end encrypted folders.
Please keep in mind that a browser is essentially an extension of the server, executing code that comes from the server. As the purpose of end-to-end encryption is to protect from a server, using an end-to-end encryption technology in a browser breaches that protection temporarily.
Flexible brute force protection 🛡️
Brute force protection is in place to give you peace of mind, ensuring your Nextcloud remains secure even against determined access attempts. Nextcloud Hub 10 adds more flexible configuration with configurable login attempt limits, to balance usability.
Hands-on MDM 🤳
Control security of mobile access for your team members by configuring the apps according to your policies. Enforce biometric protection with features such as FaceID. disable access to certain settings and sections of the app like multiple account login, external websites, logs, file sharing and clipboard, opening in external apps, and more.
Remote backups 🛟
Now you can specify a remote location to back up or restore your Nextcloud AIO instance. This lets you additionally prevent threats like ransomware attacks and makes it very easy to spin up a new All-In-One instance and restore the needed state on a new server.
Work smarter, feel better: improvements for a stress-free workflow
Nextcloud Hub is a unified platform consolidating data across all your apps into a singular system so you can focus on your tasks without interface fatigue. Nextcloud Hub 10 brings sleeker interfaces, shorter actions and more opportunities at your fingertips across Nextcloud Hub.
Chats, calls and streams: Nextcloud Talk improvements 💬
Nextcloud Talk is a robust conferencing platform fully integrated with file system, office documents, mail, calendars and Artificial Intelligence in your Nextcloud Hub. Even enterprise-ready with federation features and uncompromising security compliance, we made it very user-centered and straightforward. And even more so in Nextcloud Hub 10.

And other features like new document styles section, quick text replacements with Autotext, custom dictionaries
Effortless file sharing and organization 🗂️
In Nextcloud Files, we introduced multiple UI improvements and quick actions so you get more done with less clicks. Here are the most important of them.
Shortcuts
Use the essential features via keyboard shortcuts for effortless file browsing and management – find them all in the app settings.
Internal and external shares
The improved sharing sidebar UI provides easier navigation between internal and external shares.
Better tagging
We improved file tagging too. Tag multiple files at once for efficiency and give tags a color. The administrator can block users from creating tags to make sure all users stick to a pre-defined set of tags.
File conversion
Finally, enjoy easier file conversion: you can now quickly export files in another format via context menu without opening Nextcloud Office editors.
Mentions, translations and summaries in Nextcloud Mail ✨
We help you like your email again by cutting unnecessary corners and making communication simpler! The Assistant could already summarize mail discussions, suggest replies to emails, detect when a message would require your follow-up and sort the most important emails in a Priority inbox. You can now also mention people in emails for clearer communication and filter messages mentioning you. We also improved the integrated translation.
Book big meetings with ease in Nextcloud Calendar 📆
Invite entire groups of contacts to your events to avoid manual invitations. To align better with everyone’s free slots, quickly check their future availability and find the best fitting time. This is even easier with automatic time suggestions! We also made availability easy to check anywhere in Nextcloud. Click an user avatar in Nextcloud Mail, Nextcloud Files or Nextcloud Talk and see when their agenda is free!
Much requested: if you have many calendars you can configure which will block you from being available in the free/busy view, and which are ‘transparent’.
Clone boards and cards in Nextcloud Deck 🚛
By popular demand, we made it easier to handle routine tasks and big projects. Copy cards across boards to reuse them for new tasks, or clone entire boards to launch similar projects while keeping or removing assignments, labels, and due dates.
Mobile interface overhaul and offline-on-the-go 🏃
Nextcloud Files clients now feel more intuitive with several UX adjustments in both iOS and Android apps. You can also enjoy quicker access to Nextcloud Assistant, file recommendations, Unified Search and colored file tags. What’s more – quick access to your notes!
Another usability update is more opportunities for offline work, as you can upload and manage your files even while offline with postponed sync.
Native desktop client UI 🖥️
We worked on the Nextcloud desktop client in many areas of performance and security, and improved its interface to look native on all platforms.
Nextcloud Assistant 3.0 and AI Agency features
With Nextcloud Assistant 3.0, we deliver open-source, on-premise agency features to everyone, make your AI into a real assistant.
We believe that tomorrow’s AI is certain to significantly speed up your workflows. For example, book your meetings, talk to your colleagues, or sign your documents. Big Tech companies have long promised agency features where AI can perform actions for you, but only recently began rolling these features out, and often restrict them behind expensive subscriptions or limit who can use them.
The Nextcloud Assistant is available now – for everybody!
Introducing agency 🧠
Agency features allow Nextcloud Assistant to gather information from various apps and perform actions for you. It can already create events in Nextcloud Calendar, read and send messages in Nextcloud Talk, send emails and more. It has access to your files, your chats, address book, and external services like the weather. Ask it to find information on a page in Nextcloud Collectives, send it to your colleague in a chat message, then create an event with them to discuss it – and it will. We are adding new capabilities at speed. To get a taste of what the Assistant can do for you, watch the video below!
Smarter chat, email and office suite 💫
Deeper Nextcloud Assistant integration in Nextcloud Mail brings email thread summaries and quick translation right inside your emails. In Nextcloud Talk, Nextcloud Assistant can summarize chat messages and meetings, making it easy to catch up after long weekends and vacations.
New ways to work with text 📝
Nextcloud Assistant just levelled up with smarter text tools. It features new convenient text tools including Change Tone and Proofread. Plus, we added GPU support for Translate tool.
Who owns your AI? 🩻
You know we are all in on privacy and transparency. Now you can check in your setting which AI providers are used and for which features.
Yes, Nextcloud does not send your data to AI providers – out of the box, none of these features are enabled and it is up to you if you want them – and how. Run AI models on your own server, use a trusted AI-as-a-Service provider or, for non-critical tasks, openAI might be fine. YOU are the boss!
Next up, your best collaboration platform yet!
Nextcloud proves that dependency on the Big Tech software for workplace productivity is no more. With this release, we reinforce the integration of our ecosystem and its compounding performance – to reveal a solution where data sovereignty, privacy, and compliance are not just afterthoughts, but the underlying foundation. Scalable, powerful and easy to deploy – there’s no reason not to try Nextcloud Hub 10!
