Next week, February 27 in Barcelona, the Mobile World Congress takes place. This HUGE event will have a Nextcloud presence, shared with our friends at Canonical. Look up the fresh blue color between the bright orange at the Ubuntu booth! You can even book a meeting on the Canonical site to discuss Nextcloud, the Nextcloud Box and IoT technology.
We’ll be demonstrating our collaborative project: the Nextcloud Box, an amazing piece of hardware and software built by WDLabs, Canonical and Nextcloud!
The Nextcloud Box builds on the 1TB USB3 PiDrive by WDLabs with a Nextcloud case around it. The user has to supply the box with a Raspberry Pi. The included MicroSD Card contains Canonical’s Snappy Ubuntu with a Nextcloud Snap. This powerful combination delivers secure, fully automatic unattended updates to your software, making this the perfect device for users who want a private cloud without the fuzz of maintaining it!
Learn more about the box in this announcement from our conference last year:
You can learn more about the making of the Nextcloud Box in this blog post and find out how Snaps were helpful in delivering a easy to use solution in this webinar.
We look forward to seeing you there! Not at MWC but like to meet us? We’re at many other conferences, including FOSSASIA in Singapore, FOSS-North in Denmark, OSCON in Texas and OSCAL in Albania! Find an overview of Nextcloud events here.
On December 3rd, we invite you to the Nextcloud Enterprise Day Paris, Nextcloud's flagship event for professionals. The day will kick off with a keynote by our CEO and founder, Frank Karlitschek—a highlight where he will share our vision for the future of online collaboration, followed by a major announcement about Nextcloud Talk!
Nextcloud has been recognized with the World Summit Award Germany that selects and promotes local digital innovation improving society, aiming to contribute to the United Nations' agenda of sustainable development goals.
Maintenance updates 28.0.12, 29.0.9 and 30.0.2 for Nextcloud Hub 7, 8 and 9 respectively are here! Read an update summary and access full changelog on the website.
