In a little over a month, the Nextcloud Conference will take you and other contributors to Berlin for a week of talks, workshops and lots of code! As of today, registration is open, the Call for Papers is open.
Program and Registration
The conference takes place from Friday the 16th until Thursday the 22nd of September 2016 at the TU Berlin, Hauptgebäude, Strasse des 17. Juni 135 in Berlin. Saturday and Sunday we’ll have talks and keynotes in the mornings while we have hands-on workshops to get work done in the afternoon. Bring your laptop, we’re going to get dirty!
The conference will kick off on Friday the 16th with a thematic day focused around commercial use of Nextcloud. Subjects like scalability, security and performance will take center stage in sessions led by Nextcloud partners, customers and hosting providers.
Saturday and Sunday
On Saturday and Sunday we kick off each day with a dozen lightning talks and a keynote. While we have yet to announce keynote speakers you should stay tuned for some big news on each day!
The afternoon is reserved for workshops where we discuss and work on subjects like the Contacts and Calendar app, Spreed.ME integration and more. We’ll also feature workshop with more of a beginner focus for those interested in getting involved in Nextcloud!
Monday-Thursday
From Monday to Thursday we continue working, coding, designing, discussing and working on the future of private, federated, secure cloud technology!
As of today, registration for the conference is open and you can get yourself signed up on our conference website. We’ll keep it open until the event but would appreciate it if you’d register so we can plan properly!

Call for Papers
The community is the conference, that is, contributors are the ones who present what they’re doing to each other and work together. As sharing ideas is a central goal, we’ll organize a single track with short talks in the morning on Saturday and Sunday. As getting-things-done is equally important, we do workshops in the afternoon in which we focus on a particular subject like sharing or communication integration.
Our call for papers is open, that is, we invite anyone who would like to share something relevant about Nextcloud to submit a proposal. Keep it simple: a short, one paragraph description of what you’re working on and will share is enough. The talks are 5 minutes, slides in PDF (to be submitted at least 1 week in advance) and a pre-arranged order so we can go through the talk without any fiddling in between with projectors or such.
We would like all talks to be submitted until September 1st so we can put a full schedule together. But sooner is better!
The talks will be scheduled over the three days (Saturday/Sunday/Monday), if one day doesn’t work for you just note it in the comments section!
We’re organizing this event in the open, if you want to get involved, join in the forums!
