Nextcloud and GÉANT team up to deliver secure file sync and share solution for education and research

GÉANT, a pan-European data network for the research and education community, now offers in Nextcloud a secure, self-hosted sync, share and communication solution to its participants. Communication and real time collaboration are quickly becoming more important in the educational market, while keeping the data and communication under control of IT continues to be a challenge. Nextcloud offers a powerful solution for these needs, combining unique features like end-to-end encryption in its clients with a special focus on the educational market through the Nextcloud Education Edition.

The National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) and their connected educational institutions support their students and teachers increasingly often with file sync, share and collaboration technologies. As stewards of their students‘ data, awareness of the need to stay in control over this data is growing. Nextcloud is well-positioned to protect the privacy and security of this data with a secure, on-premise, fully featured file sync, share and collaboration platform.
