Why the ISV Partner Program exists
The Nextcloud App Store has always made it easy to publish apps for the broader community. But some apps are built for highly specific use cases, such as compliance workflows for public-sector organizations, integrations for regulated industries, tools for particular verticals.
These solutions often serve a handful of large organizations rather than thousands of self-hosters. As a result, many are delivered to a customer and never published, making them difficult for others to discover and impossible for their creators to grow into sustainable products.
The Nextcloud ISV Partner Program is designed to change that.
Why partner with Nextcloud?
Working with Nextcloud gives ISVs access to a fast-growing ecosystem of organizations prioritizing data sovereignty, security, and open standards.
Reach enterprise customers
Through the ISV Partner Program, your application gains exposure to thousands of organizations looking for a trusted, self-hostable, and compliant solution to a specific problem.
Integrate into a proven platform
Leverage APIs, app frameworks, file access layers, authentication systems, and collaboration tools already used at scale.
Accelerate go-to-market
Benefit from co-marketing, app-store visibility, events, joint webinars, and enterprise sales alignment.
Build on trusted open source
Align with a transparent ecosystem backed by strong privacy principles and long-term extensibility.
Who the program is for
The ISV Partner Program is aimed at developers who have built — or are building — Nextcloud apps for specific enterprise or public-sector use cases, and who want to reach more customers without building a full commercial operation from scratch. These apps do not need to be made publicly available on the Nextcloud App Store.
Typical use cases include productivity and collaboration tools, AI-driven assistants and automation services, encryption, and compliance solutions, document management and workflow systems, e-signature and contract platforms, as well as backup, archiving, and data lifecycle tools.
What the program offers
Nextcloud takes on the go-to-market work:
- Promotion and visibility across the Nextcloud customer and partner ecosystem
- Sales support through customer introductions
- Marketing through Nextcloud campaigns and communications
In return, participating ISVs maintain the app, ensure stability and security, provide support to their customers, and commit to Nextcloud’s core values: privacy, local data processing, no data leakage.
Integration opportunities
ISVs can integrate at multiple layers of the Nextcloud ecosystem:
File and data integration
Authentication and identity
Collaboration layer
Automation and workflows
