We invite you to submit a proposal if you want to present or share anything related to data privacy and Nextcloud. Your proposal should be simple and short: Just tell us in a few words about what you want to share with other Nextclouders.

The deadline for the Call for speakers is September 1st; after that, you have time until the 15th of September to submit a draft of your slides! During the conference itself, there will be a short Q&A session after your talk.

Nextcloud Include

Supporting diversity in open source!

Diversity strengthens a community. The Nextcloud Include initiative
helps underrepresented groups to join the Nextcloud
project, building an inclusive and diverse space where we
collaborate and develop world class software.

We want to support participants from underrepresented groups in Open Source to join Nextcloud Conference by sponsoring part or the whole of their transportation and accommodation costs.

Contributor week

During the contributor week from October 1 until October 4 we collaborate on Nextcloud improvements in design, functionality, stability, performance and features. We share code, thoughts, inspiration, beer and knowledge, working in areas like:

  • Coding (PHP, JS, C++, Objective-C, Java)
  • Design & Front-end
  • Testing
  • Translation & Documentation

Talks & Workshops

In the weekend of October 1 and 2 we have a program with talks and workshops to provide a chance to learn and improve coding skills on and around Nextcloud. For example:

  • Write your first nextcloud app
  • Intro to the Android app dev process, why you should join the design team and how we do performance testing
  • Status updates on the Calendar, Theming and iOS apps

Read our blog on the Nextcloud Conference 2018 to get a feeling of the event.

Location

📢 Nextcloud Conference

📅 October 1-4, 2022

bUm, Berlin, Germany

📍 Paul-Lincke-Ufer 21, 10999 Berlin, Germany

How to get there

bUm is close to U-bahn stop Schönleinstraße, or U Görlitzer Bahnhof. You can take the U8 to Schönleinstraße from Alexanderplatz, or take the U1/3 from Warschauwer strasse to Görlitzer Bahnhof.

We don’t have a strong hotel recommendation – though finding a hotel on the U8 or U1/3 lines will of course make it easier to get to bUm! There are lots of hotels around Alexanderplatz and Warschauwer Strasse.

Do book soon: this fall is promising to be a very busy event season and prices are already going up!

Partners

The event is made possible thanks to the financial and practical support of Nextcloud GmbH.

We’re also welcoming other partners to support the event! Contact us here!

Nextcloud Events

Besides our conference, we organize and attend other events including our upcoming Enterprise day for business users of Nextcloud on October 4, 2022 in Berlin.
