The countdown is on. On September 27 and 28 we are meeting up in Berlin, Germany, for the annual Nextcloud Community Conference 2025. Get ready for two full days of workshops, talks, and networking with contributors, developers, and open source enthusiasts from around the world. Do you want to deepen your technical skills? Explore the latest in digital sovereignty? Or simply connect with the Nextcloud community? We start every day at 9AM for an activity-packed weekend, with something for everyone!

Two keynotes you won’t want to miss

Our 30-minute keynote talks on Saturday and Sunday are highly anticipated, as they cover burning topics in technology and open source: the rise of AI and its implications, and the important of open source to achieve digital sovereignty.

On Saturday at 12:15PM, Daphne Muller, Manager Alliances, Ecosystem & Support at Nextcloud will take the stage for her keynote: “From policy to practice: implementing the EU AI Act for open source software”

Artificial Intelligence is evolving rapidly, and with the EU AI Act coming into play, understanding how to use AI responsibly is more important than ever.

Join Daphne Muller as she dives into:

The latest updates on the EU AI Act
How to put regulations into practice
Ensuring compliance in open source software

Her session will include an open Q&A, giving you the chance to ask your questions directly.

On Sunday at 10AM, we are joined by Michael “Monty” Widenius, Creator of MySQL and co-founder of MariaDB, who will speak about “Building Trust with MariaDB: Open Source as a Path to Digital Sovereignty”.

If you’re part of the open source world, you’ve almost certainly heard of MySQL, the world’s #1 open source database. Michael “Monty” Widenius, the original creator of MySQL, will take the stage to share insights from his decades of experience shaping one of the most influential technologies in software development.

On both Saturday and Sunday, we are setting aside an hour for our lightning talks: short, sharp sessions delivered by Nextcloud employees and community members.
