Product quality and brand perception
It is fundamentally important to us that any permitted use you make of the Nextcloud marks be of the highest quality and integrity and meet the highest standards. To ensure this is the case, we reserve the right to revoke your permission at any time and for any reason.
Fair use
We acknowledge and support your right to make “fair use” of the Nextcloud marks, and do not mean to suggest with these guidelines that our permission is required in such cases. We cannot, however, tell you categorically what will and will not qualify as a “fair use.”
Logo guide
Logo variations
Mark only
Only to be used when there is no space for text due to size. We never use the text without our mark, and we avoid horizontal arrangement.
Clear space & size
Clear space
When using our logo, please leave some space to breathe. The general rule is to add a blank area equal to half the mark’s height on all sides.

Logo color
The Nextcloud Blue is #0082C9 on white background.
The white (#FFFFFF) is on blue or image background.
Logo without text
The name “Nextcloudˮ can be optionally left out through, we provide logos without the text.
Logo typeface
The typeface of the logo (or similar ones) – MuseoSans should not be used anywhere else.
Alter the logo
Do NOT alter or overlap the logo with other logos. When overlapping onto images, use the white version and ensure sufficient contrast with the background.

Keep the contrast in mind.
Do NOT overuse other colors (#1CAFFF, White, or Black) over the primary color (#0082C9).

The Inter typeface family
The Inter typeface family is our typeface of choice. It is clean, modern, and highly readable, ensuring our messages are conveyed with clarity and style. This font family is open-source and is structured with a clear hierarchy.
Font usage
- Usage for best legibility
- Minimize exceptions
- Line height between 120-150%
- Use a default tracking of the font
- Emply bold for emphasis
- Emply italic for the quote
- No hyphenation
- Use sentence case, not Title Case* or UPPERCASE*
- Align text left or center
* Exceptional cases:
- Title Case – Product app names, Event names, and proper noun (a specific person, place, thing).
- UPPERCASE – Divide section title for the web or print / Labels, badges, and stickers
Branding guide
Spelling
When referring to Nextcloud make sure that it is spelled correctly. Nextcloud is ONE word and must not be separated into two words. It has one capital, at the beginning, NextCloud is NOT a correct spelling.

Brand advertising guide
Use of the Nextcloud brand in advertising
Nextcloud’s brand name, logo, and trademarks are protected intellectual property. The use of our brand in any paid advertising, including search ads, display ads, or transactional advertising, is not permitted without explicit written consent from Nextcloud GmbH.
We kindly ask that third parties refrain from bidding on Nextcloud brand terms (e.g., “Nextcloud”) in paid search campaigns, as well as from using our brand in any way that might imply official endorsement, affiliation, or partnership. Our brand may only be used in descriptive, non-transactional contexts, such as mentioning compatibility with Nextcloud in a factual, non-promotional way.
