IONOS Nextcloud Workspace: data sovereignty for everyone

A genuine alternative to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, ideal for those who want to retain control of their data. This principle guides us in the development of Nextcloud. Users should be able to decide how and where their data is stored: on their own server, in a private cloud, or with a trusted cloud provider of their choice.

The challenge: IT infrastructure

We recognise that setting up and managing your own IT infrastructure can be challenging. Many private individuals, smaller organisations and public sector bodies, for example, lack the necessary resources and expertise to create secure, reliable infrastructure for their data.

IONOS Nextcloud Workspace: Sovereign collaboration at the click of a button

Until now, IONOS has offered Managed Nextcloud — a sovereign file-sharing service — as well as additional apps and office functions on request. With IONOS Nextcloud Workspace, users now receive all the functions of the Nextcloud Hub in the IONOS public cloud. In addition to File Sync & Share, this includes a comprehensive online office suite, groupware for emails, calendars and contacts, and Nextcloud Talk for chatting and holding video conferences directly in the browser or via the mobile app. The integrated AI assistant can support users with various tasks, such as quickly creating texts and images, generating text summaries, drafting email responses, providing translations and answering questions, all while ensuring 100% compliance with data protection regulations and without using confidential information to train AI models.

Some interested beta testers have already tried out the workspace ahead of its official launch. We were particularly pleased with the positive feedback regarding the effective integration of the individual modules. Pricing and availability

The IONOS Nextcloud Workspace is now available as either a preconfigured package or as part of the highly scalable IONOS Cloud. Prices for the package start at £6.50 per month for individual users and it can be cancelled on a monthly basis. On the cloud platform, Nextcloud Workspace is available from £4.75 per user per 30 days.

What comes next?

The Nextcloud Workspace will be expanded even further in the future. Over the next few months, IONOS plans to add new functions and integrations to make the platform even more useful and efficient. Some of the planned innovations include

• An extension to include security functions and settings such as a cloud-based virus scanner (Verdict-as-a-Service) from G-Data
• Expansion of AI functions for searching, editing and analyzing documents
