The Digitaler Staat event emphasizes the digital transformation of public administration
Nextcloud will be showcasing how governments can become digitally sovereign and safeguard confidential data of its administration, citizens and contacts with Nextcloud Hub. Governments are increasingly moving away from foreign cloud providers amid rising concerns about digital sovereignty and Nextcloud has emerged as the most deployed self-hosted private cloud solution in government.

Alexander is a long-time promoter of free, open source software and digital sovereignty. He is eager to help our customers fulfill their needs and use cases. Previously, he was the head of IT at a school as well as teaching Mathematics, English and Physics. Alexander has a passion for Maker Spaces.
Technical Project Manager
Eric studied Business Informatics and worked as a developer for years, before taking over a role as process- and project manager for digitization at a southern Germany city administration. Self-hosting a lot of open source software including Nextcloud took him to his current position as Technical Project Manager at Nextcloud. He loves working with technical and business people and is always eager to understand requirements and finding great solutions for it.
Security, data protection and privacy are increasingly becoming vital concerns for public administration officials. But as it stands, does the public sector in Europe have enough sustainable options to drive digital transformation in public services, address current technological gaps, and maintain competitiveness on the global stage? This expert panel will explore how Europe can employ its own digital capabilities while safeguarding public interest and autonomy.
