Call for speakers
Share your insights at #NextcloudConf24
Are you passionate about data privacy, open source and Nextcloud? We invite you to showcase your expertise and insights by submitting a proposal to speak at the upcoming #NextcloudConf!
Whether you have a groundbreaking idea, a unique perspective, a practical solution to share, or a great project you are workign on, we want to hear from you.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Building a safer digital world” — we especially encourage topics that resonate with this theme. Your proposal can be as simple as a few words outlining what you wish to present or discuss with fellow Nextclouders.
Submission Guidelines:
- Topic: Data privacy, open source and Nextcloud-related content.
- Length: Present a 5-minute lightning talk or a 30-60 min. workshop.
- New deadline: July 21st, 2024.
- Notification: Accepted speakers will receive confirmation from us.
- Slide Submission Deadline: August 26th, 2024.

Join the Contributor Week
After the 2-day Nextcloud Community Conference, we continue with our famous Contributor Week at the same location, MotionLab.Berlin! From September 16-20 we collaborate on Nextcloud improvements in design, functionality, stability, performance and features. It is a unique opportunity for developers to dive deep into the codebase, exchange ideas, and work closely with other Nextclouders.
The atmosphere is vibrant and collaborative, fostering an environment of learning, growth, and innovation. By the end of the week, participants not only have gained invaluable experience but also made significant contributions to the Nextcloud project, helping to shape its future.
Contributor Week at the Nextcloud Community Conference is a celebration of open-source collaboration, fostering a strong sense of community and collective effort.
We share code, thoughts, inspiration, beer and knowledge, working in areas like:
- Coding (PHP, JS, C++, Objective-C, Java)
- Design & Front-end
- Testing
- Translation & Documentation
- And more!
Travel support
We are excited to offer travel support for the Nextcloud Community Conference, the Contributor Week, and other events where volunteer assistance is needed. Our travel support program covers 80% of your travel and hotel expenses in exchange for your volunteer help at the event.
Important: Due to limited resources, travel support is only available to a select number of community members. Please consider your need carefully before applying, as requesting support may limit assistance available to others who might need it more. Only apply if you truly need financial assistance to attend.

Diversity strengthens a community. The Nextcloud Include initiative helps underrepresented groups to join the Nextcloud project, building an inclusive and diverse space where we collaborate and develop world-class software.
We want to support participants from underrepresented groups in Open Source to join Nextcloud Community Conference by sponsoring part or the whole of their transportation and accommodation costs.
Please note that we can only offer travel support to a limited amount of our community members, so keep in mind that if we help cover your costs, the costs of another community member who may need it more than you can’t be covered – only request travel support if you need it! To get to our venue MotionLab.Berlin, the most convenient way is to take public transport by bus or S-Bahn. The closest S-Bahn station is Treptower Park. The easiest way to enter is via Jordanstrasse, 3rd entrance. To your left, you will find Hall 20 – MotionLab.Berlin.
Upon your arrival, there will be some signs to help guide you.
There is free street parking available but it can fill up. Bikes, scooters, etc. can be parked in the commercial yard, The Bouché-Höfe.
