Now, the global political situation with trade conflicts, erratic decisions and the breaking-up of partnerships that have lasted for decades is causing great uncertainty about the reliability of digital collaboration tools provided by dominant tech giants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to a threefold increase in demand, Nextcloud is introducing Talk &#8220;Munich&#8221;, the latest version of its video call and chat platform to provide organisations with secure and reliable communications and facilitate migration from US cloud platforms. We have taken up this challenge and focused on making Talk users less dependent on international events\u201d, says Frank Karlitschek, CEO of Nextcloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nextcloud Talk \u2018Munich\u2019 makes the migration even easier and more secure<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The market expresses a desire for improvements that make it easier to switch from familiar US platforms to Nextcloud. This update therefore focussed on improving usability and integration capabilities. Some of the most important updates include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Full hybrid workspace<\/strong>: Talk Munich introduces a new dashboard that displays upcoming appointments, upcoming reminders and important chat messages to provide the user an overview of their most urgent tasks. Improved calendar and address book integration makes tracking meetings easier and shows more information about participants in the sidebar of chats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Introducing Nextcloud Talk Phone<\/strong>: The existing telephone dial-in capabilities are extended to support routing calls from a phone number or extension directly to individuals, for example during absences such as vacation. Customers can choose from a variety of VoIP providers and integrate with corporate phone systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Extended feature set<\/strong>: It is now easy to add a third person to an existing 1:1 video call, share images with a single click in the chat room from the mobile apps while the desktop client can sync the availability status of the operating system. One-off meeting rooms can be automatically cleaned and the calls offer updated device selection options.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Nextcloud Talk is the only comprehensive collaboration platform that can be run completely autonomous offering users the ability to run the software in an entirely sovereign and reliable environment to maintain full control of their data, regardless of what third parties decide. In the first five months of 2025, demand for Nextcloud has more than tripled. \u201eWe are seeing the greatest demand for a secure and reliable collaboration platform from European countries. But we are also seeing a significant increase in global inquiries, for example from Canada, Latin America and even the US.
