This fits with earlier, <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcloud.com\/blog\/eu-and-us-government-agencies-converge-on-conclusion-us-cloud-platforms-not-compliant\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">similar conclusions by the Swedish and Dutch governments<\/a> &#8211; US cloud solutions are not GDPR compliant.<\/p>\n<div class=\"alignright size-medium\">\n<blockquote><p>Data is the new oil, and the EU is giving it all away<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<h2>EU needs to take action<\/h2>\n<p>In a recent op-ed on the EU&#8217;s Open Source Observatory, we <a href=\"https:\/\/interoperable-europe.ec.europa.eu\/collection\/open-source-observatory-osor\/news\/regain-control-over-eu-data\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">urged the EU to take the lead against the tech  giants<\/a> which are using and exploiting EU data.
